Where materials are understood, tested and enhanced

Laboratories of Excellence

In RES laboratories, scientific knowledge becomes a concrete tool for sustainable innovation. These highly specialised spaces, equipped with advanced technologies, are where polymeric materials are analysed across all their properties — chemical-physical, thermal, mechanical and theological.

Each test is performed in accordance with the main international ISO and ASTM standards, ensuring reliability, quality and performance. It is here that rigorous material control is transformed into industrial value, supporting the development of increasingly efficient, circular and responsible solutions.

NICOLET iS20 FT-IR Spectrometer – Thermo Fisher Scientific

Infrared spectroscopy is an absorption spectroscopic technique used in material characterisation to identify the chemical composition of the materials under analysis.

DSC 3 – Mettler Toledo

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), performed in accordance with ISO 11357, provides a comprehensive thermal profile of the material, identifying melting point, crystallisation temperature, related enthalpies, glass transition temperature, degradation temperature and degree of crystallinity (%).

INSTRON Dynamometer

Tensile properties provide the most important and straightforward indication of a material’s mechanical strength. Their determination requires recording the stress–strain curve of test specimens subjected to tensile loading along their axis, in accordance with ASTM D638-14. This test yields the following parameters: elastic modulus (Young’s modulus), yield point, tensile strength at break and elongation at break.

Melt Flow MF30 – INSTRON

The determination of the Melt Flow Rate (MFR) analyses the rheological behaviour of the material. MFR represents the quantity of polymer, expressed in grams, that flows through the capillary of a standard-sized plastometer under a specified load (2.16 kg, 5 kg or 21.6 kg) and defined temperature conditions, in accordance with ISO 1133.

METTLER TOLEDO HE73 MOISTURE ANALYZER

Moisture analyzers, or thermal balances, are instruments that measure moisture content using the loss-on-drying method. They consist of a weighing unit and a halogen heating unit and are suitable for production and quality control needs in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and many others.

METTLER TOLEDO HYDROSTATIC BALANCE

Density determination using a balance according to ISO 1183 is a process that allows for much more reliable results than other methods in which the volume is determined independently of the mass of the sample.
