Research, science, and vision at the service of the circular economy

Research and Development Center

RES invests in innovation through its Research and Development Center in Pozzilli, located on the site of the former Mossi & Ghisolfi research center. The 18,000-square-meter facility is adjacent to the sorting plant acquired in 2019 and operational since the second half of 2022.

This hub represents a key strategic asset for the Group: here, the expertise gained in waste management is transformed into applied research, aimed at developing new industrial initiatives within the circular economy and transferring technology to existing plants.

Polymeres, the new Research and Development Center equipped with advanced laboratories for the analysis and testing of plastic materials, is located at the heart of this ecosystem. It is here that materials are studied not only for what they are today, but for what they can become tomorrow, giving rise to innovative solutions capable of generating value, reducing environmental impact, and accelerating the transition to a truly circular model.

We develop research projects aimed at material recovery

Development

Reuse of plastic waste materials, with a particular focus on the textile sector

Re-engineering of processes and products to reduce the ecological footprint

The virtuous journey of the material towards a sustainable textile future

Recycled to... texile

Step 1
RECYCLED PET

Raw materials take on a new form: the plastic that is collected and sorted is transformed into rPET, a regenerated material with high performance and a reduced environmental impact. This is where the sustainability loop begins to close, giving value to what was once considered waste.

Step 2
LAB SPINNING MACHINE

At the heart of our laboratory, the Lab Spinning Machine transforms rPET into continuous filaments through an advanced spinning process. Each fibre is the result of technology and research, ready to become a key component of ethical and innovative textiles.

Step 3
TEXTURE

The regenerated material becomes yarn, soft, durable and ready for new production cycles. Here, the circular economy takes shape, giving life to high-quality textiles that tell a story of sustainability, innovation and responsibility.
