The pyrolysis plant, based on a high-temperature thermochemical decomposition process in the absence of oxygen, will be developed in the industrial area of Pettoranello del Molise and will represent a further strategic step towards the full deployment of the circular economy.
This innovative technology will enable the recovery and valorisation of plastic fractions that cannot be mechanically recycled, originating from the advanced sorting plant, significantly increasing the ratio between incoming waste and outgoing secondary raw materials. Through pyrolysis, materials that currently have no recovery pathways can be reintroduced into new production cycles, reducing reliance on fossil resources and lowering overall environmental impact.
The main output of the process is pyrolytic oil, intended for the chemical industry for the production of new polymers used in the consumer goods sector. In this way, plastic waste is transformed into a strategic resource, contributing to the closure of the materials loop and supporting the transition towards more sustainable, efficient and responsible production models.
